MT import weirdness

    I’m having some trouble importing my MT blog posts. This is my setup:

    wordpress-2005-01-23 nightly
    Apache 2.o PHP 5 on Macosx

    When I run the mt-import script it stops after successfully importing 2 – 3 posts. There are no error msg on screen. It just stops and then nothing. After repeating the process about 50 times I managed to get all my posts imported with a couple of mysql errors on the side.

    My posts are most written in Icelandic which has many special characters, could that have an effect?

    Yep, login to WP’s admin interface, go to Options/Writing, and make sure that the text encoding is the set to be the same as your MT blog. Then, try the import again.

    I did try to set the encoding to ISO-8859-1 before impoting, that did fix the problem.
