• I followed the tutorial posted on this site to import entries from a Movabletype blog. Everything went fine, except I can’t login as any of the authors of the imported entries. I know the tutorial says it’s been tested on version 1.0.2. Is there a way to make this work in the beta version or should I wait till a stable release goes out?

  • Hi Johanka, the problem with using thatimport-mt.php to import to the beta version blog might be that the password is not md5 encrypted. I would suggest you wait till the new import-mt.php that supports encryption, among other things, to be included in wordpress. If you want to go ahead, what you can do is, use phpMyAdmin to access your database, go to the users table, copy the admin’s password string and paste it in the mt-user’s password field. Now you will be able to login with the mt-user’s username and the admin’s password. This is the quick and dirty solution, but it works. To be able to edit your drafts when logged in as the mt-user, you have to enable him to do so by increasing his/her user level to 1 or greater by first logging in as admin.

You are right, it was the problem with encryption. I copied the string and it works now.
    Thanks!
