# MS Web Platform & SQL Type

 * We currently use WP to run our intranet, but with WAMP. We are removing the server
   where WP is installed and plan on using Microsoft’s Web Platform Installer. I
   am use to using phpMyAdmin, but with the Web Installer, it installs MySQL automatically(
   5.1 when 5.6 is already out there).
 * Question is for those that install WP on a server… do you prefer MS SQL or MySQL?
   and how easy are those two to manage (importing my phpMyAdmin database and such)?

 * As long as it is still a MySQL server (per “it installs MySQL automatically” )
   you can use phpMyAdmin. It is just an interface that connects to an instance 
   of MySQL.

 * That’s what originally thought, but had major issues trying to setup myphpadmin
   to connect with the MySQL database. I eventually gave up and installed MySQL 
   WorkBench. I have used this in the past, but this updated software is actually
   very fast and fluid.
