If I click to play it plays for me.

I’m using Safari and it will change to pause, no timeline bar and no sound.
I tried it in Firefox and it works as it’s supposed to.
Know of anything that I could do?

    Hi Nppbc,

    Which plugin are you using?

    Thanks.

The one that I’ve tried is nothing (since WordPress has MediaElement built in) and an older version of MediaElement. I’ve tried others as well but none seem to work on Safari.

Does the theme have one built in? When the page first loads, for a split second I see a different player.

Are you saying that WP native mp3 player will not work on Safari!
Or won’t work on Safari with this theme?

If that’s the case I need to bail on this theme, hope that is not the case. (I just hadn’t gotten to the music part of the site I am working on)

I am thinking that it’s the plugin I am using. It’s one I’ve used before and it appears that it’s not longer being supported. I’ve ran into this before but it was easy to fix. The plugin was built before WordPress began pre-installing the media player. So it would work with any player plugin as long as you directed to that player.

It should be working using the [audio mp3="%SERMONURL%"] but it’s not within Safari, only Firefox.

At the moment, I do not have a media plugin activated so it should be using the built in player, MediaElements. Here is a test page with the same audio file added to a page using the Add Media option. It uses the same, [audio mp3="%SERMONURL%"] but has the file link where the %SERMONURL% is at.

I am by no means knowledgable with php or I would have already fixed it. :/

I guess it helps to post the test page.

    Hi Nppbc,

    I’m using v6.2.3 of Safari.

Did you ever get this working on macs?
I ask as I had an experience using mp3Jplayer..
all working well and then I updated the theme from version 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 and no mp3s would play.
I reverted back to the older theme and all is working again..
although I haven’t been able to do a thorough test on apple products.

Nope and I too had the same issue. I installed MediaElements and that got it back to what it was originally doing. Still not working though in Safari. At this point, I’m thinking it’s the theme due to the fact that the update messed up the WordPress player.

Yes I have a message into the theme developer on this thread and through email. I don’t know how soon we will hear anything as he lives (and is ok) in Nepal.
