mp3 files with accented characters no longer play (they used to) (2 posts)

I installed mp3-jplayer more than a year ago and have 2 pages using it to play a list of files.

Some of these files have (and always had) accented characters (like 'ó' or 'ñ').

They used to play alright and now they don't.

I don't know if this was caused by un upgrade of the plugin or the wordpress code. I'm at 1.7.3 and 3.4.1 respectively now, but I don't know which combination did work.

    Any help will be thanked.

I just upgraded (after some intermediate steps) to 1.8.4 and wordpress 3.5.2 and the problem remains...

Browsing the apache log, I found that the problem is that the plugin is generating the URL encoding accented characters using ISO 8859-1 (or a similar 8 bit codification) and NOT UTF-8 (which is what the filesystem and web server use).

Is there a way of telling the plugin to encode/decode accented characters using UTF-8?
