moving wp up one directory

  • i did a search but it seems that you need phpmyadmin. and i dont have phpmydmin.

is there a way to move my wordpress folder to http://www.domain.com from http://www.domain.com/wp without the use of phpmyadmin and without losing all my entries/comments.

if possible, the simplest way possible because i’m not that techie.

yup, just login into to your WP control panel, click options and remove the /wp from “WordPress Address” and “Blog Address” then click Update Options.

Then use your FTP to move all of the things in your /wp directory into your root directory.

You’re done. Hit your domain and see your blog.

what about CHMOD? and my entries/comments?

They don’t come into it – just do what is above and all will be good 🙂
