 * Hello there,
 * so I’m planning to use WP to replace an old site which is currently online. Probably
   I will install WP in a subfolder like (domain.com/wordpress) so the old site
   will be available while I configure WP. I’ve read WP guide to move the installation(
   [http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory](http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory))
   from a subfolder to root. So:
 * 1) I should follow the instructions presented on “Using a pre-existing subdirectory
   install”, right?
 * 2) One simple thing that I don’t understand is how to COPY (and not move) index.
   php and .htaccess files. Cos I can’t copy any file using FileZilla.
 * thanks

 * If you can’t copy or move files in FileZilla, then it seems you don’t have a
   privileged ftp user. Are you able to make a subdirectory in your FileZilla account?

 * Hey John. Thanks for your answer.
 * Yes, I can create new folders in public_html with no problem
