Hello, I have basic knowledge of wp, basic knowledge of mysql, phpmyadmin. I am in the process of moving a blog from a hosted server to my own server. Hosted server has mysql version 5.0.51a and phpmyadmin 2.8.2.4. My server has mysql version 5.1.36 and phpmyadmin v 3.1.3.1. Both have the same versin of wordpress 3.0.1.

I have exported and imported the database without what appears no errors. I have copied all the relevant wp-content files and changed the wp-config file. Within dashboard of WP i have chosed the same theme and have added the same plugins. However, i have noticed that post tags are not exactly all the same on the live blog and the one copied. Can’t get the image files displaying either. Could this be due to the different versions of mysql and phpmyadmin? Any guidance would be great! Thanks in advance.

  • Look at your page source of the site on your server: the image URLs are probably still pointing to the other host. See Moving WordPress « WordPress Codex.

Hello Songdogtech, thanks for your reply. I’m not sure exactly where to look. I had a look under phpmyadmin under wpress_options but can’t locate an option to change image locations. On the live blog, i see that image files are in wp-content/uploads/ which have been copied over to my server. Is it somewhere on the dashboard?
