Support » Fixing WordPress » Moving WP Blog from Root to Subdirectory

  • Hello,

I installed my blog on the root file when I first created my blog. Trouble is now I want to move it to /blog directory. I feel confidant that I will be able move the blog from the root file to the subdirectory /blog. Before I do this however I want to make sure that all of the inbound links to my blog will continue to point to the correct blog posts.

I have been researching this topic and it seems like I will have to create some .htaccess file that addresses the change to the subdirectory because I am using permalinks. I would appreciate any help anyone can shed on this topic.

    Best Regards,

    Hello t-p,

Unfortunately, I have read this post already and it isn’t the answer to my problem. The reason for this is I am moving my blog from my root to my subdirectory of /blog because I am going to be hosting my website a website on my root. I need to move all of wordpress to my subdirectory is what Hubspot is telling me. Anyway, thanks for the help. Does anyone else know how I can make sure that the inbound links pointing at my permalinks once moved to the subdirectory /blog can still work?

    Thanks in Advance!
