[Resolved] Moving wordpress.com to wordpress.org

  • I initially registered a domain through wordpress.com, but now would like to switch to wordpress.org. I have hosting through DreamHost, but can’t figure out how to transfer the site. I don’t need to transfer any content from wordpress.com, just starting fresh.
I changed my domain on wordpress.com to point to DreamHost’s servers, per another forum, but am stuck on how to proceed. Please help!

How long ago did you change the DNS settings? It can take up to 72 hours for that change to fully take effect.

So you just want to start fresh on DH? Have you done anything over there yet? They have great support and their 1-click install for WP makes it really easy too.

DNS settings went through and I’m good to go. Thanks for the response, WPyogi 🙂
