If I were to set up a new host (i.e. Bluehost) and set up WordPress there, could I move over my information to there such as posts? Or would I have to make some type of archive to show posts from the previous site? I do plan on doing this at some point of time because my blog is still in a setting of an early stage.

  • Yes, you can do this, and the process is pretty simple.

In your existing blog dashboard, go to Tools > Export

Export all data, and save the .xml file somewhere that you’ll be able to find it again.

Set up your new hosting account, and install WordPress.

In the new blog dashboard, go to Tools > Import, and import the .xml file you exported previously.

    Assign authors as appropriate.

If you have subscribers on your .com blog, you’ll need to install/activate Jetpack, and then ask WordPress.com support to migrate those subscribers for you.

Just be sure to have a saved version including photos..it’s usually pretty easy to do.

Thank you guys. You all are awesome 🙂
