# moving wordpress within website

 * Hi there,
 * I have a website at [http://www.trabvv.be](http://www.trabvv.be)
 * i’ve created a map called [http://www.trabvv.be/wordpress](http://www.trabvv.be/wordpress)
 * In that map i placed all the installation files. I’ve been working on the wordpress
   site for some days now. Finally is wat ok, looked like i want it to look.
 * I used the steps as described in [http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress)
   starting with (If you want to move WordPress to your root directory, make sure
   all index.php, .htaccess, and other files that might be copied over are backed
   up and/or moved, and that the root directory is ready for the new WordPress files.)
 * So i change the wordpress and blog adresses to htt://www.trabvv.be, then i use
   FTP from filezilla to transfer ALL the files and maps (wp-admin wp-content,wp-
   includes + all files)
 * Then when i go to [http://www.trabvv.be](http://www.trabvv.be) it’s not there,
   nothing is?
 * What am i doing wrong, tried it a few times now allready?

 * I’ve put everything back a few times and tried it over and over again. I just
   don’t get it 🙂
 * And i want my wordpress website on [http://www.trabvv.be](http://www.trabvv.be)
   and NOT in [http://www.trabvv.be/wordpress](http://www.trabvv.be/wordpress)
 * So giving own directory is okay but i would like to put everything in the root
   folder please.

 * Can i please ask what the “WordPress core files” are?
 * Are these all the files AND all three maps? ((wp-admin, wp-content,wp-includes)

 * WordPress core files are all the files & folders that you originally uploaded
   to your site before you installed WordPress.

 * damn, then i really have no clue about what it is that i am doing wrong. After
   i changed the URL’s an dFTP’ed all the files to the root directory. Do i have
   to do anything else?
