Support » Fixing WordPress » Moving WordPress site to root directory

  • I follow the instruction here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory; copying htaccess and index page to root directory, changed the index page. But when I go to http://www.glennmauserplastics.com; it’s a blank white screen. I can view other pages by manually key in the actual page name, like here: http://www.glennmauserplastics.com/custom-injection-molding/ then when I click on the Home page, it’s blank.

    here’s my code for the index.php:

    <?php
    /**
    * Front to the WordPress application. This file doesn’t do anything, but loads
    * wp-blog-header.php which does and tells WordPress to load the theme.
    *
    * @package WordPress
    */

    /**
    * Tells WordPress to load the WordPress theme and output it.
    *
    * @var bool
    */
    define(‘WP_USE_THEMES’, true);

    /** Loads the WordPress Environment and Template */
    require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . ‘wp4/wp-blog-header.php’ );

    All help are welcome. Thank you in advance!!!

    You should not be editing core WordPress files. My suggestion is undo everything you have done so far then use the Duplicator plugin to move the site. Even if you are just moving to a different folder, a move is a move and this plugin can help you do that 🙂
