• Hi All,

I have a local install of my wordpress site on computer 1 and I needed it on computer 2. I’m using WAMP

The install on computer 1 works fine and to get my site to computer 2, I did the following…

    1. copied all my files from my site on computer 1 and put them in a new folder in WAMP on computer 2
    2. set up a new database on computer 2 and imported the database (which I had exported from computer 1)

When I go to localhost/test on computer 2, the homepage comes up albeit unstyled. And all other pages are just blank/white.

Could anyone please shed some light on what is going wrong?

    Thanks

    Rose

  • You need to review Moving_WordPress.

Thank Esmi – I have done that prior to posting here.

Since I changed from one localhost to another I followed the ‘Keeping Your Domain Name and URLs’ section

Done – If database and URL remain the same, you can move by just copying your files and database.

Database and username not changed – If database name or user changes, edit wp-config.php to have the correct values.

If you had any kind of rewrites (permalinks) setup you must disable .htaccess and reconfigure permalinks when it goes live – I did disable .htaccess but I can’t reconfigure permalinks as I can’t get to the wp login page.

    Thanks,

    Rose
