Moving WordPress from Example.com/wordpress to Example.com (2 posts)

So I downloaded and installed WordPress in a folder within the root of my domain (example.com/wordpress). I worked from that location in order to keep example.com (which did not use WordPress) functioning while I built the new version. Now that my version is ready to go, how do I move WordPress so that example.com loads my new site? Do I simply change the Site Address in General Settings from http://example.com/wordpress to http://example.com? Will that take care of it?

I've been looking at various articles, including this and this, but I am not sure which directions to follow. This is the first WordPress site I have built for a client, so I'm a little nervous. I really appreciate any help!
