# Moving WordPress Failed

 * I recently tried moving my wordpress blog from [http://www.robokira.com](http://www.robokira.com)
   to [http://blog.robokira.com](http://blog.robokira.com) . I followed all the
   instructions found here: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_WordPress_Within_Your_Site](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_WordPress_Within_Your_Site)
 * But it didn’t work. I followed all the directions exactly, but whenever I try
to access any page within my blog (the index, individual posts, etc.), I get
   this error:
 * > Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header() in /home/ccsyhqkj/public_html/
   > blog/index.php on line 1
 * I don’t know what went wrong – can anyone help me? I think my problems started
after I changed the WordPress and blog addresses (URIs?) in my General Options
in my Dashboard. (Steps 4 & 5 from the Moving WordPress instructions I linked
to.) Because after I changed both to [http://blog.robokira.com](http://blog.robokira.com)
and clicked on update, I got an error page. I don’t know – that whole step seems
odd to me: why would I direct my blog to somewhere my files aren’t yet? (The
directions said to move the files after changing the URIs – step 10.)
 * I can still access my Dashboard fine, and it seems like all my posts are still
there (but whenever I try to open them, I get that ‘undefined function’ error).
 * Can anyone help me? I don’t know what’s going wrong. 🙁

 * I should also mention that changing themes doesn’t do anything – the index.php
and all other pages still have the same ‘undefined function’ error. 🙁 Please
   help me!

 * Do you run your own server or do you have a hosting provider if the first then
you need to create the subdomain. If the latter you need to call your host to
find out how to create that subdomain.

 * I run my own server, and I have already created the subdomain. I created the
subdomain before I set the URIs and before I moved the files. You can see it
   at [http://blog.robokira.com](http://blog.robokira.com).

 * Do your wordpress files actually exist in the folder
    _home/ccsyhqkj/public\_html/
   blog/_?
 * And does the subdomain point to that folder?

 * Yes, I put them all in there – and the subdomain SHOULD point to that folder.
xxx.robokira.com and robokira.com/xxx are supposed to be interchangeable, but
I wonder if that’s the problem?
 * I just tried changing the URIs in my options to point to [http://www.robokira.com/blog](http://www.robokira.com/blog)
instead of blog.robokira.com, but that didn’t work either.

 * Okay, since nobody seems to be able to help me – is it possible for me to somehow
reinstall wordpress? I don’t mind if I lose the themes or plugins – I just really
want to keep all my old posts. Is there anyway to keep my old posts but reinstall
WordPress? That might solve my problem, I guess.

 * I’m half asleep so sorry if this comes out wrong. Is there any way you can just
point the subdomain to the current working wordpress install?
 * Otherwise, you may have to go into phpmyadmin and change the URI’s manually,
I had to do that when I moved…..I got the error page too.
 * After reading your first post again, I think you should at least check the URI
settings in phpmyadmin, that’s probably the problem.

 * I did check the URIs in phpmyadmin, and they were right – but after upgrading
to the latest version of WordPress, my problem was fixed. 🙂 I suppose a file
somewhere got corrupted, so the fresh files helped.
 * So this is resolved. Thanks everyone who replied!
