# Moving WordPress

 * To be honest I am guessing at the version, but perhaps it does not really matter….

 * I am trying to move WP from one host to another and following [http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_WordPress_to_a_New_Server](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_WordPress_to_a_New_Server).
 * I have backed up tables to a SQL file and also copied down all files residing
   under www folder. I was unsure exactly which files I needed so took the whole
   lot – is that correct?
 * I have setup a new installation on new hosting provider, so do I simply import
   tables and copy all files in WWW to same place?

 * And then I am also supposed to edit wp-config.php with your new database/user
   information??!?

 * That’s right.
    Upload all of the files on your new server. Update the wp-config.
   php with the new db/user info. Upload your db on your new server and if the url
   is the same, your good to go.
 * If the url is different, then you will need to change all instances in the database.

 * Coolio – also, what happens if the DB names are different? Any config to update?

 * Something else …… so I imported DB_1 into DB_2. Am I supposed to be using the
   DB_2 Name and then the Username/Password from DB_1?
