Please help, I really need it.

redesign your theme – edit index.php and sidebar.php and style.css to make your site look different.
Widgets get loaded into sidebar.php … wherever this is, the widgets get loaded.

Thats right but I want to know how I do it..I have all the widgets functions and I just need to know how I have them display in a different position that sidebar? What holds them to go to sidebar?

    Regards
PS:Why I need to edit Sidebar? I will just disable widgets from it.

Widgets need to be in a sidebar. With creative theme coding and css, sidebars can appear at the top of a theme instead of the side. However, to do this, you would need to know some coding, WordPress theme design, and css. The Codex has a great deal of info about these (search for sidebars, themes, and widgets):

An easier alternative would be to find a theme with a sidebar already in this position.

Now, tell me how I can boxes containing these widgets with ROUND corners as the other stuff there?? Also How can I move then to ONE box rather than TWO boxes?

    Regards,
PS: Isnt it strange that a person with no progamming bakground was able to do it…

Also, I dont know why my Text in these widgets in grey color – why not Black like in Sidebar widgets? I have duplicated everything from sidebars so I assume everything should be same as them…

I can certainly keep looking to find where that color is defined but if you guys give me an hint it will help me alot..

Now, last thing, How I can make the corners of this box ( the box above comments) ROUND same as the other boxes there??

I hope this time you guys will support me.

Widgets have been driving me nuts. This is what I’ve learned. I’m using 2.8.2.

Access your dashboard and then click on Widgets in the lower left column.

Two columns will appear on your page. If the Widgets have “add” to the right of the box you should be able to move the Widgets. Just click on the “add” and it will move to the right column where you can work with the Widget.

If no “add” click on screen options top right and click on enable accessibility so that it reads disable accessibility mode and the word “add” will appear in the tabs. Click on the “add” and the widget will move to the right column.

Some of the Widgets give you the option for customization by clicking on edit. At the least you want to choose the order you want the Widget to appear on your page in the select box. Play around with the select, preview, and the back button on your broswer until you get the order you want.

The coolest things I found out was that you can use the text box to create any Widget you might want. That’s where you put the html for sign in forms – in that text box – to create the forms.

Take a look at my sight – http://fantasycasino.us – the top three widgets on the right sidebar were custom. First, the sign in box created through aWeber.com and then pasted into place from Notepad, then the next two created with information and affiliate links. So cool when you get this stuff figured out.

Just noticed that if you click on screen options when you’re still on the dashboard page there is a group of options with check marks in them. I’m thinking now that might be where I can adjust some of the pages showing up on my site that I really don’t want there – so that’s the next project.

    Good Luck,

    Louise

hope there will be an option soon where u can choose to place your widget into the top or sidebar!
