 * Hello,
 * I’ve been working on my test site which is at mydomain\blogtemp. Within a week
   I’ll want to make it my production website. How do I move it from the subdirectory
   to my public root?
 * I’m on godaddy if it matters.

 * Instead of moving the core files I like to do that this way which organizes things
   just a little bit nicer while cutting down the clutter in the server’s web root.

 * I recommend method II. Most every WordPress powered site I own or work on is
   setup this way. A few even have ad servers and other apps running from other
   subdirectories off of web root. Makes a nice sensible install in those situations.
