  • I followed the codex guide but here are my steps

I uploaded all files from my old server to the new including the SQL database.
The new site loads but all the images and links are referring to my old site… even when I login to admin it takes me to the admin panel on the old site.

From here i followed the info from this site. I tried to change the 2 blog url’s via admin panel, functions.php, wp-options.php, and also going into my SQL database and editing it there.

I have done each of these changes individually along with reuploading everything starting fresh and doing them at the same time but everytime I do this the main site goes down and all that loads is my admin login, but when I try to login it just takes me back to the login page.

  • Update: I added a www. to the to url’s and now am able to see the main page with the post and access admin panel

clicking on the posts or any page will result in a 500 error

Have you tried using the WordPress Export and Import function? This is by far the easiest way to move your blog from one host to another.

Thanks! That actually worked like a charm
