Moving the search bar to the top and including a new (Nav) bar.

  • Hi guys.

    Looking for abit of advice. I am sure this is something easy to do so i am hoping you guys can help. I am currently using the Twenty twelve theme, over here at booteeki.com and i have managed to move the search container and toggle to the top. of the header.

    I am wanting the search logo to be inside a bar which goes across the top. This will also have a login & My account there after further coding. I have tried to make a basic Divs and HTML like this:

    <div id="topbar">
            <div class="search-toggle" "topbar">
    				<a href="#search-container" class="screen-reader-text"><?php _e( 'Search', 'twentyfourteen' ); ?></a>
    			</div>

               <div id="search-container" class="search-box-wrapper hide">
    			<div class="search-box">
    				<?php get_search_form(); ?>
    			</div>
    		</div>
            </div>

    with my style.css having:

    .topbar {
    padding: 30px
    background color: black
    }

    Although this makes a black bar above the search logo.

    Thanks for your help guys 🙂
