Support » Plugin: WP-DBManager » Moving the .htaccess file to avoid the backup being visble

  • Resolved Mike Waddell

I get the error message that the backup may be visible so please move the .htaccess file. However, find I have no .htaccess file in the stated folder but there is an htaccess.txt file so:

Is the error message wrong? Should I be moving the txt file?

If I move it should I rename it? to .htaccess? If so how?

If the txt file is a red herring and there should be a .htaccess file how can I find it because it doesn’t appear to be where the message says it should be?

Does the warning message arise because the plugin has detected the file in the wrong place or is it just a suggestion to go and look? Therefore, if I move the file will the message go away?
