Moving site from Twenty Eleven to Twenty Twelve with Child Theme

  • From the reviews of Twenty Twelve around the interweb, it seems like twenty twelve is an amazing theme.

    I am currently using twenty eleven with a child theme, and have made a lot of customizations because of the complexity of twenty eleven.

    How complex would be to move my site from twenty eleven to twenty twelve?

  • If you have 2012 installed, it’s as easy as changing a single line in your child theme:

    @import url("../twentyeleven/style.css");

    to

    @import url("../twentytwelve/style.css");

    and reloading your blog. If everything looks and works great, keep it. You may have to make a few minor adjustments here and there.

    If, on the other hand, you have a lot of problems or issues, just change that line back to its original form and everything should be good.
