# MOVING SITE

 * Hi I want to move my site from example: [http://www.domain.com/blog](http://www.domain.com/blog)
   to just [http://www.domain.com](http://www.domain.com) – it is on the same server,
   the same domain name, I just want my site to feature on [http://www.domain.com](http://www.domain.com)
   instead of [http://www.domain.com/blog?](http://www.domain.com/blog?) I have 
   read the posts by WordPress.org, but they are to fague for me… can anyone help?
   
   The files are currently located at public html/blog – so I thought if I just 
   change the URL that it will take the site, but that doesn’t seem to work, please
   help, I need to move my site.

 * Basically, you want to login to your site at
 * [http://www.domain.com/blog/wp-login.php](http://www.domain.com/blog/wp-login.php)
 * Go to Settings > General and change both ‘WordPress address’ and ‘Site address’
   URLs
 * from [http://www.domain.com/blog/](http://www.domain.com/blog/) to [http://www.domain.com/](http://www.domain.com/)
 * After you save the changes you’ll be kicked out of the site until you…
 * Then via FTP, you’ll need to move all the files inside /blog up one directory
   to reside directly in /public_html
 * Then you’ll have an empty directory called /blog which you would delete.
 * Once the files are moved, you should be able to login at:
 * [http://www.domain.com/wp-login.php](http://www.domain.com/wp-login.php)
 * You will probably need to update old image paths in your posts depending on your
   setup.
