moving servers & changing wp

    I will be moving a friend to my reseller very soon. He’s currently running WordPress 1.2 RC I believe it is, and it’s in a subdomain.
    He wants me to install in the main directory and we would like to install a newer version and then import the mysql.
    My questions are…
    Is this an okay way to do that?
    Which version should I install? I have several of the nightlys – which is the most stable and least buggy??

    Import the sql file, then upgrade.
    IF your friend is totally happy to run a nightly (go read the sticky in the Troubleshooting forum) then pick any. Be sure he is fully aware of the fact that everything may not work as expected !!
    Anyway..
    Once imported, change the site_url and home values in wp_options and all should be good, but import first.
