moving RSS link in sidebar

  • hello! I’ve been trying to move my RSS Subscribe link down to the bottom of my sidebar, under the Mailing List field. My attempts to cut and paste the code only succeeded in loosing the image link, and instead turned the RSS link into text, floating just outside the sidebar margins. Any help is much appreciated. thanks.

  • Well it looks like your rss feed has this code:
    <div class=”syndication”>
    <ul class=”rss”>
    <li class=”sub”><span></span><abbr title=”Really Simple Syndication”>RSS</abbr> Syndication

    </div>

    Try putting it just after your mailing list code, but before the final

    <li id=”wpsb” class=”widget wpsb_opt_in”><h2 class=”widgettitle”>MAILING LIST</h2>
    <form action=”#wpsbw” method=”post”>
    <p>email:
    <input type=”text” name=”wpsb_email” id=”wpsb_email” /></p>
    <p><input type=”submit” value=”submit” /></p>
    </form>

    </div>

    Stick it under this and see how that works. It should…

    Although that rss feed is inside of the first

      tag, but it doesn’t have it’s own

    • ….. So if my first suggestion doesn’t seem to work, then put it at the end like I said, but wrap the whole RSS code in beginning and ending
    • tags

    sounds like good advice, but the sidebar.php file doesn’t have the code for the mailing list, which is a plugin I installed. Do I cut/paste the RSS code into the widget editor? Or is there a simple RSS Subscribe I can download as a widget instead of inherent in my theme (which is Darkwater1.0 btw)
