  • Here are a few links that should help:

A suggestion: after you complete the move – mark your old WordPress.COM blog to “Private” to stop search engines from seeing duplicate content – that also reserves the old site if you want to use it for some reason in the future – does not cost you anything – once you delete a blog it is gone FOREVER –

    Thank you so much.
It worked, but now looks different. The same theme in my new blog doesn’t seem to support my header. My menus are all screwed up too.
How do I fix this, or is it not possible with this theme at my new site?

The Themes at WordPress.ORG and WordPress.COM are a bit different even when they have the same name (yes you found that out 🙂 ) – usually changes can be made either the PHP or CSS of a Theme.

If you are not a code Guru then the best bet is to pick one or two very specific questions and start a new thread and have a link to your site – in many cases the un-paid volunteers can explain fairly simply so you have a good chance of making the changes yourself.

You do need to be able to use a plain text editor and FTP to move the files to and from your site.

PS – Your Tag Line still says “Just another WordPress site”

May I suggest you change it? It will look more profesional.

Dashboard >> Settings >> General >> Tag Line

    Good Luck
