i want to change my host, and i have to move my blog. can i simply move the folder and it will work? or what settings will i have to change first?

Follow these instructions exactly and you won’t have any problems.

No, there’s a few more things to do, most importantly moving the databases.

http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/restore/ (restore)
