Moving header text

  • I would like to move the text on my header. It is in the wrong position. I filled out the site title and tag line in the ‘settings’ area, but the writing is too far up and to the right.

    I would like the text to be bigger, lower and to the left.
    This is a theme I downloaded from a free site, so could this be the reason why I can’t move it?
    I’m sure someone out there has a solution for me!!

  • You need to edit the CSS of the theme.

    This:

    h1.art-logo-name{display:block; text-align:center;}
    .art-logo-text{display:block; text-align:center;}

    Should become:

    body h1.art-logo-name{display:block; margin:20px 0 0 20px;}
    body .art-logo-text{display:block; margin:5px 0 0 20px;}

    Adjust the values of the margin to get the text placed where you want it.

    Thanks so much for that curtismchale! I got it to work but I don’t know how. I followed what you said, but wanted to move the text again as your suggestion had it put hard to the left margin. Somehow it ended up where it is now by mistake & I have no idea how! I just typed in a few numbers! Hope I never need it again!
    But thank you very much you the reply!
