• Hello,
As I didn’t know that it isn’t supported anymore, I started using WP Glossary and it doesn’t work properly. Can I export the terms from there and import them into iThoughts Tooltip Glossary?

    Hi,
iThoughts Tooltip Glossary terms have the same structure than WP Glossary, so going from one to the other should be fine. Have you tried yet?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I tried it but it doesn’t work at all.
The “upgrade” from WP Glossay to iThoughts Tooltip Glossary kept entries of my terms but I can’t connect them to the words in my pages. The “Add a glossary index” button doesn’t do anything, never. The “Add a tooltip” button opens a window but doesn’t find any entries of the glossary.

Hmmm, interesting…. Can you post me via Pastebin your WordPress error log file if you have access to it, and your browser console output?

    Thank you

    Hi,

Can you tell me if the problem persists with the new v2.7.0?

    Cheers

Thank you very much for your replies!

Sorry, I’m not familiar with the WordPress error log file. Where do I find it?

The new version doesn’t work either, unfortunately. First and main problem, in Chrome the ITG Tip button opens the “Insert a Tooltip” window, but in the “Glossary Term” section there no terms at all although my glossary contains about 60 terms which I can open and edit from the backend.
In Safari the “Insert a Tooltip” opens, but shows only the bottom line with the “Ok”/”Discard” buttons which wouldn’t work and I have to close the tab of the browser to get back to editing the page. In Firefox the “Insert a Tooltip” window opens, looks normal, but wouldn’t react to clicks or anything so again I have to close the browser.
As soon as I can, I’d try it at another computer. All my experiences are from a MacBookPro from 2012, El Capitan 10.11.3

    Hi there,

Well, I really don’t understand. It works perfectly on my dev site and perfectly too on my main production site.
First, can you please clear your browser cache then retry?
After that, the most important thing I need to understand what happens is your console outputs. If you need detailed instruction, I highly recommend you to check the FAQ thread on my site. For the server error log file, ask your sysadmin for the PHP error log file. It is usually into /var/log/ then it depends on your config.

Also, some screenshots would be really useful.

I suspect 2 main reasons for now, according to what you told me:

    • or this is a browser incompatibility so I also would be pleased if you could tell me what version of what browser you are using, I’ll try to do the same.
    • or this is a plugins interaction incompatibility

Sorry for all those problems. Have a wonderful day

    Hi there,

As another user pointed in another thread, clearing your browser cache may solve some issue. Can you please try that?

    Cheers, and merry christmas

I tried, but it doesn’t work. The main problem remains, no entries would appear in the glossary list if I try to set a tooltip or a link with the provided buttons. As it doesn’T work neither in other computer and browsers I guess it’s not about browser incompatibility.

The glossary list seems to be empty although there many entries.

Thank you very much for the support so far and merry Holidays!

All the glossary entries have their own URLs like any other posts. Aren’t they supposed to be found by google? Becouse it wouldn’t happen. Maybe it’s somehow connected with the problem of not appearing in the glossary list, when trying to set a tooltip.

Well, really, I can’t find the reason why nothing works with your WP install. You are the only one having that problem.
Another possible reason of your troubles is incompatibility. Can you please list me all plugins you are using, with their version, and your WordPress version?
    Thank you
