    hi all
    here is my situation.

    old domain – domainname.com
    new domain – differentdomainame.com
    OS – ubuntu server 12.04
    control panel – imscp
    same server
    self hosting

how do i move the wordpress from domainname.com to differentdomainame.com.
currently on domainname.com all blogs are test data and test images, that domain was used to learn worpress now that i have fulfulled that purpose i would like to move the theme over to differentdomainame.com with empty database so that i can begin writing writing real data and images.
by the way on the old domain wordpress is in a folder (not root)
is it possible to have it in a folder on the new the domain with a different label.

i have read the codex instrustion link but its not really clear to me.
i have seen wp academy plugin which maybe useful but neither the website or the usage video states that it can move wp from live url to another live url.

this is what i was thinking just now.
    ————————————

if i was to backup my current wp folder
delete or drop its database contents
goto the new domian and install wordpress there
use the same database name and user
then rewite the new wp folder with the old wp folder
change the new wp folder name
do you think this would work or is that just a crazy idea lolol

    thank you
    wcp
