• Hello,
I have seen similar posts to my question, but my situation is a little different so thanks in advance for bearing with me!

I put up a site 5-6 months ago, wrote a handful of posts (less than 10), then abandoned it. The site has gotten pretty much zero traffic except for a couple google pings. I’ve decided that I want to move that content to another (new) site, delete it from the original/old site and use the original/old site for something else entirely. I know I could use the export/import tool to move the handful of posts to the new site, but my question is do I need to even bother to set up redirects from the old site?

I also probably won’t get to re-purposing the old site for awhile, so essentially I could temporarily shut it down, if that’s possible. Basically, I’m just looking for the easiest way to move the content & (eventually) repurpose the old site without doing anything that looks like plagiarism to google.

  • If you move the content and then remove it from the old site straight away, it’s not going to do any harm. Seeing as how everything is basicly new, there’s not much to go wrong.
