Moving blog to site root

  • I have installed WP 2.0.3 on /Wordpress but I want my blog to open up as http://me.host.com/ instead of http://me.host.com/Wordpress/.

So I followed the instructions given here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

    Now the problem is that:

I could not find a .htaccess file in /Wordpress. No its not something like hidden, its simply not there in /Wordpress. So, I tried to create a .htaccess in ‘/’ with CHMOD 766. But that didn’t work and I got the following error message on accessing http://me.host.com/

Warning: require() [function.require]: Unable to access ./Wordpress/wp-blog-header.php in /home/oni/index.php on line 4

And, the same error message is shown even when there is no created .htaccess in ‘/’

    So what do i do?
