Been playing with this one for a while now and dont seem to be able to resolve so any help appreciated.
I have WP2.3 loaded with “Blue Box” theme loaded. By default the theme has a top navigation bar with Home as the first nav option. The home page has the blog on it by default. I have therfore created several other pages “about” and “projects” for example. If I set another page in admin to be the home page and call it Home I end up with 2 Home links on the nav menu. If I change the name to blog then both the blog and home links are the same.
I suppose I am asking how do you have a WP Dynamic home page but with the blog on a seperate page.
Thanks for any guidance.
Your on the right track the only problem I see is that once you create the static front page then it shows up twice in your navigation bar which is easily fixed.
Post your header.php file here. And report back the link.
hi Jeremy, thanks for looking, the link is http://wordpress.pastebin.ca/733354
Look for this Code in your header.php file
<li class="first"><a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>">Home</a></li>
Delete that then Make your Home page again and set it to be the home page.
If you want to set up another Page as your Home – remove line #23 completely: that’s the hardcoded link to your index page.
Thanks guys, will try that, both extremely quick, had a glug of my coffee and you were on it. Cheers..
