Moving a blog
-
I have a blog, a good blog even, but I’m not happy when I copy and paste the blog thread’s.
I want it to say:
http://www.mygreatblog.com/&p=1
where p is post and this is a link to my first postInstead it says:
http://www.mygreatblog.com/subfolderIdontwantshown/&p=1I un-installed wordpress, re-installed in the root directory and got a “you have no index file” message, the tech folks could not help me. When I begged for more help, I got nothing.
So, I’m thinking of moving to BlueHost where they have auto install scripts and supposedly better tech help. Money is not an issue. Time is. I don’t want to be down for long periods of time.
When I created the blog on godaddy.com and transferred it over, I had to be down for 2 months. No real explanation was ever given.
If you have any experience with moving a blog (I know how to export and import the XML file) – and how to make it happen faster and more smoothly or experience with BlueHost techsupport, I’m eager to hear from you.
Big thanks in advance. Mike
