Support » Fixing WordPress » Moving 2.0.2 and Cache

  • I am moving a 2.0.2 wordpress installation to a new host. The domain is staying the same. I know how to do everything, except I am unsure if /wp-content/cache/ needs to be copied over or not. The reason I am asking is because there are over 53 thousand .tmp files in a sub directory of that directory that clearly are unneeded (i assume anyway).

  • The cache folder will be re-created. However, old files should be deleted automatically.
And, by the way, upgrade to, at least, wordpress 2.0.10. It has many security fixes, because 2.0.2 got several well known security holes.

the whole folder will be recreated?

yeah, i was going to upgrade too, but i want to move it first.
