Moved site to another url

    I couldnt quite follow the published steps regarding this so ill chance it here.

    I had built my website and hosted it with its own url, i have now purchased a new domain name and thought i could just “copy” the files in cpanel from the old directory to the new. However when i click on a link within the website it reverts back to the old website, also i have to use the old wp admin area to update the new website.

    How can i resolve this ??????
