What widget? Did you follow all of the relevant steps in Moving_WordPress when you moved the site?
Hey Esmi,
Yes, done it.. I used the search and replace.. I did it to other websites which works fine.. But this is my first time getting this issue..
I used the search and replace…
If you changed URLs in a database text dump rather than use https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/ your theme widgets broke because of serialized data.
If you did use that tool or a plugin to change URLs, your theme doesn’t correctly handle serialized data.
Hey, thats the one I always use…
so how to fix?
Your theme doesn’t correctly handle serialized data. You need to fix the theme or talk to the theme developer.
Ok, but how in the old domain the widgets just working fine?
Becuase you didn’t change URLs in the database at the old domain.
Ok.. But when changed the domain to the new one.. Should it be worked fine.. Is there need to be edit on the database like its character strings? I just dont know which meta_value to have it edit..
Should it be worked fine…
Should have workd fine. Yes. But it didn’t. Your theme breaks serialized data when URLs are changed. You need to jump into the theme code and find out where.
