[resolved] Moved site from sub to root. All good but lost "edit" link (4 posts)

I changed my site address in General from mydomain.com/cms to mydomain.com

I moved my index and htaccess files to the root and edited the index.php file.

My site works fine other than the fact that I now don't have an EDIT hypelink in pages or the Admin toolbar available.

Should I move the site differently?

Hello Esmi, this moves *fromo* a root to a sub folder. I'm going the other way around. Shall I translate the page packwards to understand what to do? Do you think that's best - or is there a better page I can find.

The problem is, there are many people giving advice with this issue. The one I tried here:

    http://askwpgirl.com/how-do-i-move-wordpress-from-a-subdirectory-to-the-root-directory/?doing_wp_cron=1331804554

Although it works, you LOSE the admin bar and the in-line edit ability.

I'll attempt to follow the post you gave me with :)

    Thanks. Callum.

Apologies, the link that I followed was a plain text email and I didn't have the full hyperlink.

    Problem solved.
