[resolved] Moved my Fantastico WP to root (5 posts)

I installed WP 2.0 with Fantastico intending to move it to the root when I had it ready to go; I'm using WP as a CMS for an existing site.

I followed the WP "how to move WP within your site" instructions, but now Fantastico cannot find WP to update. It did not occur to me that moving WP this way would mess this up since I changed the URL/blog url, etc.

Shall I now: "uninstall" WP in the original directory with Fantastico even tho nothing is there...

for updates, now I must do this manually? I've read several Fantastico/WP threads but don't see this addressed specifically.

Not sure how Fantastico handles a move, but take a look at Moving_WordPress.

Thanks, that is the article I followed to move it.

I think I need to update manually now. And should try the Fantastico forum for the uninstall questions.

Well, you can edit the Fantastico stuff, but at this point it's probably easier just to manually update it.

Thank you for the input. I'll go read up the manual update help pages.
