Moved Blogs – work, but Pages don't

  • Hi,
I am moving our blog from the current host. I backed the files and database up.

Installed them on the new host, ran the database restore.

The site works – the old posts are there, etc.

However, when you click on a “page” it gives an error.

I even made a new page called “test page” and when I tried to navigate to it I got “page not found”

I wonder if any of the experts on here have an obvious (“things that can happen when you move”) suggestion that I’ve missed?

    Thanks
    David

Stab in the dark without more info as to what you did when you moved the site… but sometimes the permalinks in the database get mixed up when you move things around.

Try going to settings->permalinks and just click the “save changes” button. That will cause a flush_rewrite to happen which might correct the issue. If that doesn’t work, please post more info like a link to the site in question so we can use debugging tools to see what’s actually happening.
