# Move WP

 * I have WP installed as a blog in the “news” section of my site [http://www.nycartcrime.com](http://www.nycartcrime.com)
   and would like to run the entire site on WP while maintaining the contents of
   the “news” section in blog format on the site.
 * Help?

 * You can configure WP to take over the root domain by [Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory](http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory#Using_a_pre-existing_subdirectory_install).
   Then you might want to set up a [static front page](http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page)
   with a new static Blog Page being used as your main posts page.

 * When it says:
    “Change the following and save the file. Change the line that 
   says: require(‘./wp-blog-header.php’); to the following, using your directory
   name for the WordPress core files: require(‘./wordpress/wp-blog-header.php’)”
 * What does it mean “using your directory name for the WordPress core files”?
