Support » Plugin: Migrate Guru: Migrate & Clone WordPress Free » Move WP Site (WPML) to WP Site (Polylang)

We copied the production site to a test site. (both self hosted, own server)
We then changed the way we do internationalization from “Polylang” to “WPML” on the test site.

Now we want to migrate our test site back to the production site using Migrate Guru. The content from the current production site can be overwritten / replaced by the test site.

I am now unsure what will happen if we migrate our WordPress site (self hosted) now using WPML to the existing production site which currently uses Polylang.
Do we need to remove Polylang before starting the migration process?
I checked https://blogvault.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/25000016816-how-do-i-migrate-my-website- before positing this. I didn’t find any tips for what to prepare before actually executing the migration

    Hey!

    Thank you for your message.

When you do the migration, the configurations will be overwritten automatically because we will replace the entire Database of the Production website with that of the test website.

Hence, you would not need to remove anything from the Protection website before running the migration.

We would only recommend Backing up the website before the migration to ensure that you have a fail-safe copy of the website while the migration is being done.

    Regards,
    Aman Kedia
