@jetra – You will most likely need to create custom templates for both of those display changes … please see this page for more details about templates in NextGEN Gallery: http://nextgen-gallery.com/templates/
Thanks!

Cais – thanks for your reply. I still need some help. It looks like, if I go to the styles – customization options, I should be able to write a css line that would move the slideshowlink display from above the thumbnails to below.
Can you tell me the specific css line to write?
Following what I read in firebug I tried these that did not work
.slideshowlink {flex:end}
.wp-smiley {flex:end}
Sure would love to have the specific css line that would work!
Thanks
@jetra – Although you might be able to shift the position of the text with custom CSS, the most correct method would be to use a custom template.
Although not thoroughly tested this should will you close to what you are looking for …

Thanks Cais! Wow – this is major recoding! I very much appreciate your reply.
@jetra – You’re welcome. It’s just moving a block of code and adding an inline style definition.

I want to do the same thing, so I have visited this page as suggested:
http://nextgen-gallery.com/templates/
It tells me to go to here:
https://www.imagely.com/docs/nextgen-gallery-templates/
which says:
“NextGEN provides a platform for integrating “templates,” which are alternatively gallery designs.”
I have no idea what that means, so I am stuck.
Can I get the ‘Show thumbnails’ link to appear below the slideshow, rather than above the slideshow, without my having to learn how to create a custom template for this change of display?
@chinachris – There is no current interface that allows you to move display elements around on the screen, you will need to create a custom template to accomplish this in most cases.
