Support » Plugin: BuddyPress Registration Options » Move from .org community (not my own site) back to .com!

  • Resolved georgiamay

Sorry if this has been answered, but have been searching a long time to no avail… all the answers appear to relate to those hosting their own sites, while mine is being held prisoner on a third party site.

I don’t think I realized when I set up my blog that it would get eaten by the host community, and there’s no feature to unlink from it from within that “wp” profile. Why is that?

I want to extricate myself from this other site, (which I have no interest in participating in) and register the domain name on!

What do I have to do? I cannot seem to log in to the .com site, yet I know it’s mine. I still have the old activation key, but on their .org site I have nowhere to enter it.

Am hoping this is something that can be corrected through WP since I don’t really want to have to deal with the other party and might wait forever anyways?

  • Hi,
You’ve asked this question in the wrong place.

The forum you are looking for is over here:

I’m a bit confused by your question.
If you can’t login to your site, you may need some help from a developer.

Hi and thanks for pointing me in the right direction… I can log in to the host site alright, but don’t seem to be able to on…
when I go to that page it says “nothing to see here”.

So, I know it’s mine, I just don’t know how to disconnect from the host site to activate my .com site?

I’ll try to follow up on the other page… thanks again.
