Move database ONLY from v1.5 to v2 using a different theme

    Hello, can anyone help me please?

    I was/am using v1.5 and wanted to upgrade to v2 and change my blog theme and url address. All using the same server. The only thing i want to transfer is my database of posts.

    I have created my new v2 blog, new theme and url etc. and am ready to move my database but can’t find any instructions on how to do this. I have seen instructions that move everything, theme and all, but not any just for the database.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    The problem is you want to do everything in one step.
    That won’t work. Let’s cut the task in pieces and everything will become easy (or, at least, easier :).

    Tasks:
    1. Moving the blog to a new domain
    2. Update from 1.5 to 2.x
    3. Changing theme

    The way you started: having a 1.5 version in one place and having a 2.0 version in another place – will not work. Database can be moved ONLY in between identical versions.
