    can I create another location and change the website without any other changes that need to be made? for example, does it affect permalinks/post names etc…?

    appreciate the reply Joy, and I have read that and a few others referring to this topic.
    Would you know if any additional changes/modifications would need to be done to not break or make sections or all of the website disappear? I had wondered about permalinks, post naming, pages etc. Or is it just this simple?

    That page describes what is needed to move your files. It includes logging in after the move and Saving Permalinks again. When the Permalinks are saved, the rewrite rules are regenerated.

    If you have a lot of internal links in your content, you will need to fix these to look like the new address. Other than that, everything will work fine.
    I have found the Search Regex plugin to work well for content changes, because you can see what will change before you tell it to actually change it.
