  • Hi,
I want to move my content from my main site to the sub-domains or sub-directory. How should I do that will that be taken by the search engines as duplicate content? If so how to avoid it?

Secondly how to ping the latest postings from the sub-directories or sub-domains to my main site which I want to use as landing page for the sub-domains and sub-directories.

If you MOVE the posts, they won’t be dupe content. They will be moved content. Export and import like you normally do with WP 🙂

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags/ will handle the pinging of latest posts, as you called it.

Thanks a lot. this helps. Further what would you suggest – a sub-domain or sub-directory for SEO?
and what is the best way to export and import the contents? I was just thinking of the manual cut, paste each content, is there a simpler way out?

Doesn’t matter. Google doesn’t care about subdomain vs subfolder.

Best way to export and import would be to use the built in WP tools, eh? 🙂
