Hi Ben, thanks again for your great work and support for this plugin, which is a must use in these days, where trust and safety are so important.

I have a design suggestion which I will propose, or at least find a solution for on my site. The Block and Report buttons sits next to the Send private message button, actually they are before the send button in the line.

Hopefully members not often need to use these buttons, so I find the position to dominating, and a little bit too hostile an impression of the profile, after all a membership site should be a joy full place.

Therefore I will move these buttons in a more discrete location, in the bottom of the members profile information.

Question, can this be done by CSS alone, or do I need to change the mark up as well?

    Best
    Carsten

    Hey @carsten-lund,

The position of the buttons are determined by a ‘hook’ provided by BuddyPress – bp_member_header_actions. This provides for compatibility across any theme that stays faithful to that hook. I expect the reasoning is so that BuddyPress users see all the buttons relating to a user in the same place, whatever theme they are using, which makes for a more intuitive user interface.

Moving the buttons would require an alternative hook to be used, and in turn require the rewriting of parts of the plugin.

That said, you may have some luck using CSS, but I would expect it would need to be significant and advanced changes/additions.

    Best of luck!

Hi Ben, thanks for your reply. As an alternative solution for a more discrete appearance,is it then possible to substitute the buttons with icons like flavicons?

    Regards

    Hey @carsten-lund,

Yes, I think if you have a reasonable level of CSS expertise, you may be able to target the buttons, and convert them to icons. You may want to look at WordPress’s native Dashicon set.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a bespoke solution, I can give you a quote via my contact form here.

    Regards,

    Ben
