I’m new to WordPress, and here is a suggestion I haven’t found in this forum before:
The admin tables (in for example /wp-admin/options-misc.php) use valign in cells, widths for the tables, widths for the cells etc. A suggestion is to move this from the content (PHP-files) to the stylesheet, /wp-admin/wp-admin.css. That way, the pages will load faster (perhaps not noticable by the user though), since the admin pages will be smaller.
